Virtual Life Skills Academy

Promoting Individual Independence As Well As Interpersonal Skills.

S.E.E.K. Arizona’s Life Skills Academy (LSA) provides a structured and supportive environment for your child to learn meaningful and useful skills for their daily lives

About Our Approach

Our Life Skills Academy identifies skills needed for success at home, in school, and community in a peer-based, group setting. Our learners are assessed on current skill repertoires to ensure they are placed in a group that is the best fit for their needs and strengths. If additional support is needed, our Life Skills Academy clinicians will identify specific goals to work on in a smaller group setting or in a 1:1 setting. Our goal is to create meaningful change for our learners, and we are committed to adapt to the needs of each individual.

Our LSA program follows an 8-topic curriculum that promotes independence and social skills. Each class is led by a technician that is trained and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to ensure the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) are being implemented to maximize learning opportunities. Parents and caregivers are viewed by our LSA staff as essential team members who can provide insight to the topics being taught. Between caregiver input, team meetings, and trained BCBAs, curriculum topics are able to be generalized into home and community settings so learner’s can be independent where it counts the most.

Life Skills Academy – Junior Group

Our Juniors group focuses on supporting learners between 8 and 13 years old. Participants in this group follow along with the same curriculum as the Seniors group, in a way modified to their interests and age standards.

Life Skills Academy – Senior Group

Our Seniors group focuses on supporting learners between 13 and 18 years old. Participants in this group follow along with the same curriculum as the Juniors group, in a way modified to their interests and age standards.

S.E.E.K. Arizona accepts service authorizations from the RBHA, AHCCCS, Mercy Care Plan and offers private pay options.

Our 8 topics of focus are: conversation, friendship, social problem solving and conflict resolution, perspective-taking, self-regulation and emotion management, safety skills, money concepts, and organizational skills. Each individual topic section includes promoting conversation between group members, following group instructions, and staying on-task during sessions. Across the curriculum, learners will learn teamwork, how to handle disagreements, understanding different perspectives, community and home safety, budgeting, and time management.
In our Life Skills Learning Academies the friendships last a lifetime. Space is limited; contact S.E.E.K. Arizona right away to start your son or daughter on their path to a healthy and happy life through our Life Skills Learning Academies.
